A New Year Thought

A New Year Thought

As we begin a New Year it is natural, I believe, to look back on the “what could have been.” I know I often do that. And even though it can be productive to look at history so you don’t repeat the same mistakes, God is the master of all things new. And yes, He often asked His Children to remember the things that He brought them through in the past and this is important, too. That reminds us of His presence in our lives and how much He does love us.

But I also love the prophet’s words in Isaiah 43: 18-19 as we begin another New Year.

18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Simply put, don’t allow the past to hold you back from the future. God is at work in your life. Look for what He is wanting to do new in you in ’22. And as it says, He will make a way!
