Nearly 58 years ago, Martin Luther King, Jr. shared the dream that God laid on his heart. In a nutshell, the dream saw all races living in peace and love. And sharing this world together.

It is sad that after nearly six decades, we still have so much division and strife when it comes to getting along with others that we perceive are different from us.

And yet, God’s Word is clear that we are to strive for peace with everyone. The Apostle Paul makes this clear in Romans 12: 18:If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

As followers of Jesus we understand that true peace comes through knowing Jesus. So as we live in this world, and not of it, may we be the peace of Jesus wherever we go.

May we be the generation that MLK envisioned so long ago. And may our love for Jesus draw others to the throne of grace…and true peace.
