A couple of us were in the Fall Festival booth yesterday talking about how the festival is a great place to people watch. Another way to put that is: it’s a great place to see “interesting” people.
This thought came to my mind this morning. What if we watched people with God’s eyes? What if “interesting” became “people loved by God?”
When we see someone “interesting” we pray for that person and ask God to touch their heart and life.
When God was selecting David to be the king of Israel he bypassed all of Jesse’s other sons, before getting to David. He reminded his prophet Samuel of this:
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”
May we have the same mindset as our Lord when we people watch.
