A tourist stopped a local in a village he was visiting and asked, “What is the quickest way to the lake?”
The local thought for a while. “Are you walking or driving?” he asked the tourist.
“That’s the quickest way.”
We may sometimes wonder what the quickest way to God’s heart is when it comes to a prayer we lift up to Him. We want an answer and we want it now. And yet, all throughout the Scriptures God says to wait.
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
(Psalm 27: 14)
We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. (Psalm 33: 20)
Lord, I wait for you; you will answer, Lord my God. (Psalm 38: 15)
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. (Psalm 130: 5)
Waiting is not an easy thing to do. But when we are waiting on the Lord, it is the right thing to do. His timing and His answers are always perfect.
Blessings to Each of You Today!
